I am thinking it would be better to use links to files uploaded at (and shared to public of course) Google Drive (or Dropbox, etc.) instead of uploading them to the forum. A few reasons for that:
1) It'll be easier to fix the currently broken attachments of some important forum topics
2) Files will be still there intact if anything happens again (let's hope it doesn't) to the forum or hosting
3) Less load to the hosting / forum so better performance and responsiveness in result.

Tell me what you think. If all agree, we might disable uploading of attachments altogehter.

Some good points on the hosting load. One thing that is nice about attachments is they don't disappear unlike having them hosted elsewhere. We still have attachments from the forums beginnings in 2006. Tho they are broken due to not converting the IPB file manager to these boards.

Let's leave off (disabled) for the time being until we get things straightened out.
