Actually, if you let the AI research only "Recall" (not Stasis - statis in SCAIEdit), it will use it defensively on damaged units, bringing them from the front to the main base.
It works both ways. If you let the AI research only "Stasis field", it will use it offensively (e.g. cubing your carriers).

I've seen that once yes, the stasis part I mean, they cube everything near
so I decided to mess around witht htis once, 12 arbiter
