get it running for dummies

i tried to get an example (java) bot running, but failed at the "bwapi plugin loads ai module"-step. haven't reached the java part yet.
here's what i tried so far:

it seems there is NO step-by-step-manual telling me which files i need, where i need to put them, what file does what. i could find next to no documentation on anything so i'm asking those who got it run.

i'm not a c++-programmer so i know nothing about dlls, header files, linkers or how to compile anything
