I've released a new ver (2.17) of my Terran bot for anyone who feels like playing with it. Here's the URL along with older versions:

I'm just wondering, does any terran bots use the mining trick to mine faster?

If you click an SCV to mine a little bit before it gets to the mining patch, it won't slow down while it gets there like normally. Might be useful in opening builds.

I think good engagements and army positioning are probably the things bots most lack. Terran especially needs to do good at it to win and I know its easier said then done when trying to actually figure out ways to do it. Maybe in future bots will start using drop ships to spread out enemy forces or harass when enemy moves out of base.
One thing is for sure scripts are never going to win in the long run even if they are easier and maybe more efficient short term.

Is there any evidence (a vid) that this is so? It shouldn't be that hard to implement.

Well, I've made some tests but apart from APM spam I didn't see any improvement. Do you see the SCVs lagging when you watch my bot play?
