It seems there is a bug in race selection with bwapi r4025 when the instance is joining a lan game and its race should be Zerg. I've disabled the bwapi r4025 Zerg bots until this is resolved. I'll probably clear their game records and start them over.

I would like to see Berkley update the overmind bot from 2010 to use the newest bwapi version and even better play a more balanced overall game. It was clearly one of the best zerg bots back then and might still be.

krasi0 hi!
I'm playing BW on linux under wine, and use BWAPI for playing against the some BOTs. But bwapi works under wine since 3.7 version, and i have you bot dll under old version. Could throw me a link please to your bot dll to latest version BWAPI ?

We are pleased to play with your bot in a team or against it =)

Thanks!! I got a lot of fun, especially when the bot began to shoot at the Allies =))
Of course not he set up cooperatives, but it beat the hell, at the height of the micro
However, sometimes it is very weak in the early plays. Strange and interesting tactics chooses.

Yeah, its early game is very weak especially against rushes. For now I've given up maintaining the C++ version. And I've started a rewrite of the bot from scratch in JAVA. Let's hope it'll be much better than this one once it's ready.

Would updating overmind to newest bwapi version be as easy as them recompiling it using the newest version? I would be happy with that if its that easy. Just to see replays of it.

I think just updating their java bwapi proxy to support BWAPI 3.7.x should be enough but I am not sure. You can send them an email with questions (http://overmind.cs.berkeley.edu/)

Ok, replays should no longer be broken from now on. Tell me and Heinermann, if you still encounter one that crashes SC.
P.S. If you find a good bots replay, please post a link in this topic: index.php?showtopic=659
