Check http://code.google.com/p/bwapi/downloads/list?can=1 (set dropdown to "All Downloads" and click Search) For the first problem: Are you running both Chaoslauncher/Starcraft and the Client as administrator? If that doesn't work then try using "_NULL" instead of "NULL".

Yeah you should send it to him. If you're a student then you can also participate in the SSCAI 2012 tournament which had a good turnout last year and may contain prize money and trophies this year.

Not sure, but the BWAPI4 branch was converted to a VS2010 project and the new custom container eliminates any issues with compatibility.

Yes but if the bot has a pdb symbol file available then BWAPI's exception handler will print the function, file, and line numbers that the exception occured, which is more helpful than a general exception handler.

Will do everything possibly at the beginning of the weekend.

EDIT: Could you make it upload the exception logs after a crash occurs? (then delete the file so that it doesn't append another crash to it)

That's actually optimization. The random number is a "magic" number used for division, but instead they use multiplication and shifts to speed things up.
