Your questions seem to be very clever and in the right place but I doubt anyone could answer them completely. I guess the best option you have is the trial and error approach. I would be happy if you post the results afterwards as they might be of great interest to anyone developing a serious bot AI.

Currently I am using Autohotkey to start a new game vs a specific opponent. I don't know how to restart a game from within BWAPI though. Any ideas would be appreciated.

sorry for the off topic but, fkstarr, have you managed to make Starcraft automatically restart matches so that your learning algo is based on let's say hundreds of iterations?

Hi, just to confirm I've faced the same problem a while ago working on my micro... groundweaponcooldown for sieged tanks is always 0 :((
Where have you read about the getChild() method? I've never heard of it.
